Scrub Your Dry Lips
Exfoliating lips once or twice a week is a good way to get smooth and plain lips in winter. Scrubbing removes the dead, dry or chapped skin cells on your lips and unlocks the fresher skin that looks amazing. Don’t exfoliate your lips more than twice a week, otherwise, it may worsen your lips.
There are two ways of scrubbing the dry cracked lips. Scrubbing products and DIY method. Two are also appropriate. But, don’t use the scrub that is made with harsh, chemical, white sugar, face wash beads, or soap based exfoliators.
Honey, brown sugar, olive oil, glycerin, rose water, Vaseline, soft bristle toothbrush, and lip exfoliation tools are DIY techniques.
Honey and Brown Sugar: Mix one teaspoon of brown/caster sugar with some honey, and mix them well. Rub it on your lips with fingers for 10 seconds, and then wash your lips off with warm water. You can use olive oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil instead of honey.
Vaseline: Vaseline is wonderful to heal the cracked lips, heels, knees, and other dry, chapped skin. Coat your cracked lips thickly with some Vaseline over the night. The lips get hydrated and repaired during the sleeping time. Just rub your lips softly at morning. It removes the cracked cells. I don’t go to bed without coating my lips without Vaseline in winter.
Glycerin and Rose Water: Mix some glycerin and rose water together, and leave it on your dry lips for 10 minutes. After that, abrade your lips with your fingers politely. Then rinse your lips off. And your lips get out with a smoother and newer look.
A Soft Bristle Toothbrush: Leave some Vaseline on your lips for 20 minutes. Then massage your lips with the brush. Don’t put pressure, just a gentle rubbing takes out the extra cracked skin on your lips. After that, cleanse your lips with warm water. I don’t like it because my lips get red and swelling.
ANYWAY, DON’T FORGET TO USE A LIP BALM AFTER EXFOLIATING YOUR LIPS.
Use Ointment or Lip Balm for Dry Cracked Lips
There are many types of ointments in the shops or online. Don’t be messed to choose the right one to heal your dry cracked lips. Try to avoid the balms with harsh or chemical stuff. These ingredients bear the lips in a temporary comfortable state, but not cure your lips. Rather, they compel you to apply the balm again and again and dries out the lips more.
Check out the ointments made with vitamin E, Shea butter, beeswax, coconut oil, olive oil, glycerin, almond oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil, honey, and other natural ingredients. If you cannot be sure whether the ingredient is natural or artificial, then, need not buy it.

Besides, oils protect the invaders to further damage of your lips. Seed and nut oils are always best picks for cracked lips. These oils are olive oil, Rosehip oil, jojoba oil, Shea butter/cocoa, almond oil, coconut oil, etc.
